Liam Challenor is a Doctoral Researcher with the National Anti-Bullying Research and Resource Centre, DCU. Liam’s PhD focuses on cyberbullying in post-primary school and how this can affect the whole school community. In addition to this Liam manages the DES National Anti-Bullying website, Tacklebullying.ie. Liam is a psychologist specialising in the areas of Education, Social and Cyber Psychology. He is a member of Psychological Society of Ireland, working on the Special Interest Group for Media, Art and Cyber-Psychology. Liam has worked for several years with psychology organisations in Ireland and Europe. Liam has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology and Research Masters of Science Degree from IADT.

Helena Murphy is a Doctoral Researcher with the National Anti-Bullying Research and Resource Centre, DCU. Helena’s primary degree is in Education Studies from DCU and has experience working with DEIS. Helena’s PhD is ‘The Impact of Teacher Empathy and School Culture on Bullying Behaviour’. The purpose of this research is to develop a deeper understanding of the importance of the teacher’s role in cultivating preventative anti-bullying strategies, academic success and pupils’ holistic development by promoting prosocial values and an ethos of respect and equality in the classroom, through modelling behaviours of empathy and caring in engaging with pupils, along with the importance of building pupil’s individual resilience to assist with tackling victimisation.
