DCU Anti-Bullying Centre invites you to attend the third webinar of the Observatory on Cyberbullying, Cyberhate and Online Harassment.

The focus of this webinar is hate speech and hate in online humour. We are joined by two speakers:

Dr Sebastian Wachs, Deputy Professor for Education and Socialisation Theory at the University of Potsdam (Germany) and Honorary Research Fellow at the DCU Anti-Bullying Centre.

He will give the talk: “From Hate Speech to HateLess: The Transfer of Scientific Knowledge to Prevention Work” In the webinar, he will present the newest research on hate speech among adolescents and how he has used the empirical findings to develop the evidence-based prevention program HateLess.

Dr Maja Brandt Andreasen, Postdoctoral Researcher at the DCU Anti-Bullying Centre.

Her talk has the title: “Just joking? Hate, humour and Internet memes” and will be discussing how online humour sometimes reproduces misogyny, racism and homophobia.
